Thetford Select Board Meeting


October 14, 2002

Present: Sara Ferguson, Mark McMahon, Mary Spata

Agenda: Road Commissioner, E911 System, Check Warrants

Frank Thurston, Road Commissioner reprted on road conditions, road grading in North Thetford, replacement of missing road signs and completion of outstanding projects. Reviewed road paving schedule for coming years, discussed staff evaluations. Awaiting state to complete striping of Tucker Hill and West Fairlee Roads.

Motion to approve driveway permit for Melba Stowell and Wayne Briggs at 343 Stowell lRoad (McMahon/Ferguson), unanimous.

Sara Ferguson will contact Karin Bonnet to sell trash stickers at Town Hall on Saturday mornings.

Mary Spata will contact Paul Guiliani tochange start date on bond for town hall construction project, which will begin in March, to check terms and payback schedule.

Met with Martha Howard to discuss procedures for E911 management. It was agreed that the zoning office should continue to manage driveway measurements, notify utility companies and the town clerk's office should maintain database. Began discussing ways to combine many databases that are currently maintained by various departments in town hall. Ms. Howard will recommend budget appropriate to maintain E911 system.

Reviewed third-quarter town and highway department budgets. Highway vehicle repair currently exceeds budget.

Motion to approve check warrant 40.1 for $28,154.85 (Ferguson/McMahon), unanimous.

Motion to approve check warrant 40.2 for $5,602.02 (McMahon/Spata), unanimous.

Motion to adjourn at 8:40 p.m. (Spata/Ferguson), unanimous.
